Addressing four difficult topics for EU prisons: solitary confinement, violence, persons in a situation of vulnerability, requests and complaints - What is the role of NPMs? How can they best monitor these issues and bring about change?
Video presentations
In the framework of the EU funded project ‘Working towards harmonised detention standards in the EU - the role of NPMs’, on 3-4 November 2020 the project consortium held an online conference presenting and discussing the findings of the four draft handbooks on prison monitoring with NPMs from the EU area and other international experts.
Below you can find the video presentations of the key findings of the handbooks, covering:
- Solitary confinement and other forms of isolation or segregation
- Prison violence and its prevention
- Groups or individuals in a situation of vulnerability
- Requests and complaint procedures
